I am also looking for the family of Edith (Edy) THOMPSON (who married Jacob MARKS in 1836 in Athens Co.). Jacob was a son of William & Mary MARKS but it is Edith that I am looking for. I have never been able to find out who Edith THOMPSON'S family was. I know absolutely nothing about Edith (my gg-grandmother). It has been listed that both Edith's parents were born in Ireland but Edith herself was born in Ohio in 1810-1812. The last location for Edith was the 1880 Census where she was in Washington Co., Ark. I can't seem to find a burial place as well.

All Whitlatch children are called Bagley on the census. John requests service pension 1890 and Matilda requests widow's pension 1892. She is 1 of 4 dau. alive when mother Anna dies in McLean Co, IL 1888.

Ohio filed a pension application as a widow to Edward SHIFLET who fought in the War of 1812. She was living with her son; Henry W. SHIFLETT at the time of application. The application was approved, but I have no further information on where she resided or died. I believe she was originally from Orange County Virginia where she married Edward SHIFLET on March 7, 1811. Henry W. SHIFLETT married Alneda J. ??? and she is suppose to have been from Ohio.
